The club representatives and FSA sat down this weekend and agreed that the weekly sponsors should only need to pay out a reward based on the BEST performance during the week. It's now enough to win in either the league or the cup to get the bonus for a win (for example), but the clubs won't get the double reward (this goes for base and clear win/ hat trick too of course).

- There is just not a double effect for us because a club performs twice, so why should we pay double? It has always been this way, but with the deal for this season with higher rewards for weekly performances it's just something the needed to be adjusted, says Scrooge Moneymaker, chairman of FSA (FreeKick Sponsors Association). The change in payments from weekly sponsors comes in effect immediately, starting with the economy update the 9th of July.

- We understand the issues for the sponsors and will pitch in and agree to the changes to ensure long term stability and partnership with FSA, said Philip Roundball (club representative),but we would appreciate if FSA think through the deals made before the season starts to make it easier for us who looks at the budget. But I think most of our club owners knew that the sponsor deals were too good to be true, and if we hadn't agreed do this last minute change the top clubs would have been boosted at the cost of the smaller clubs. And frankly, this change makes it easier to choose sponsor deals for each week as we just need to calculate with our best result.

We asked a local supporter, Adam Supportalot what he thought about the change in sponsor deals. - I want offensive and positive football! Alpha Rovers haven't really played as fun as I expected and also caused too many fouls, which I think is the reason why they didn't promote last season. Sponsors? No, I don't care much about them. I guess it's all about football and not about the money for Adam and his lot.

We received much positive respons after adding the squad statistics page (VIP) to get a better overview and some fun data about your current squad. But there were also a few managers who expect more from statistics. To those who complained, let me say right now that YOU are... right!

The squad statistics is only the first step on the road to more statistics in the game. For a game this complex and with so many details is annoying that there is so little for the number crunchers to celebrate. We plan to add statistics for each player, each match and club and a Stats Centre to see high scores and comparisons. Will this happen overnight? Nope. Will this happen until end of this season? Nope. But expect another step to be taken until end of season, perhaps two. As always we work as fast as we can to serve our great community.

We couldn't recalculate EXACTLY how the promotions/demotion would have worked. This means that all clubs that would have promoted have promoted to the right division, but perhaps not to the series (#) that they would have ended up.

Don't forget to check out your new fixtures as a new club likely have arrived in your league! We don't have troubles like this often and we hope we won't in the future. The irony is that we have put off rewriting the end of season process for over a year and decided to finally get to it this season. And then it bugs. Anyhow, thanks for your patience.

The shifting of seasons is a natural time to rejoice about prestigious rewards gained, players developed over expectation and memories of friendly meetings. It's also the time where we release most improvements to try to meet the expectations and wishes of our buzzing community.

This season we release something we call Match Service that makes it smoother to get to your recently played matches without seeing the result beforehand, but also to keep track of your bookmarked friends and their matches. We also make a few tweaks to the match engine to increase the different ways to score and some tweaks to the game play based on suggestions of the community.
